Lexi's first piano lesson

Today Lexi started piano.  Lexi is very much into her dance and tennis, so not so sure how far we will go with the piano.  We will see how it goes.  After the first lesson, she reports she loves it and needs a piano!

Relaxing and celebrating 10 years

Not sure who was more excited for the weekend .... Rich and I or the girls as they were getting to have a weekend sleepover getaway with auntie Laurie and Ella.  Rich and I had an amazing time.  We were able to relax, lay by the pool sans children and have some great meals.  The girls had just as much fun and of course came home exhausted.  Their weekend consisted of a walk to Mema's (with baby dolls and strollers of course), the movies, water park, ice cream, church and late nights of course mixed in with some extra snuggling time from Ella and auntie Laurie.

a family zoo trip

The kids always love going to the zoo and the zoo is great for all ages. Oddly enough, even with the 100 degree Florida heat the zoo is not that bad.  Most of the zoo is pretty shaded and they have a water sprinkler area as well.  We run through the zoo in a couple of hours.  We could probably walk it with our eyes closed after all of our zoo trips! I think we have all become zoo animal experts.

Beach time

Today Gavin and I hung out at the beach this morning with Gavin's little friend Angelina.  The girls were at camp, but of course Carli ditched camp friends to hang with mommy and Gavin for a bit.  What a beautiful day it was.  Also, I can not go without mentioning today is our 10 year wedding anniversary.  Looking forward to dinner out tonight and our weekend getaway next Friday.

10 years and counting .... happy anniversary my love!

10 years ago today I said " I do"! I made a promise for that day and for the future. The best days of my life were yet to come! The memories that we have created ... days that we wanted to never end and those days that we couldn't wait to end. I have learned that marriage takes work and time ... it seems a lifetime to be exact! That just when you think you got things figured out, you realize you really don't. Perhaps the word "perfect" can't really describe a marriage, but whatever the next best word might be, I will claim it. 10 years later I speak with pride on the life that we have built and the life we have yet to build. So with all that, my determined mind, 3 kids and 10 years later I fit in that damn dress!! Happy Anniversary my Love, may we continue to have many, many more years of happiness. May we continue to give our children the best gift ever ... the example of a happy and healthy marriage.

worms, worms and more worms!

Lexi scored the best gift ever from Uncle "D" ... leftover fishing worms! She decided she would set up a worm farm with the left over fishing worms.  She insists that she knows how, she even requested a vermicomposting bin.
